BALENI PASS TREK (3730 Meters)

About Belani Pass Trek :

Kangra district lies between 31˚ 21′ to 32˚ 59′ N latitude and 75˚ 47′ 55″ to 77˚ 45′ E longitude. It is situated on the southern escarpment of the Himalayas. The entire area of the district is traversed by the varying altitude of the Shivaliks, Dhauladhar and the Himalayas from north-west to south-east. The altitude varies from 500 metres above mean sea level (amsl) to around 5500 metres. It is encapsulated in the north by the districts of Chamba and Lahaul and Spiti, in the south by Hamirpur and Una, in the east by Mandi and in the west by Gurdaspur district of Punjab. It was the largest district of the composite Punjab in terms of area till it was transferred from Punjab to Himachal Pradesh on the 1st November, 1966 and had six tehsils namely Nurpur, Kangra, Palampur, Dehragopipur, Hamirpur and Una. Kullu was also a tehsil of Kangra district up to 1962 and Lahaul & Spiti which also formed a part of Kangra was carved out as a separate district in 1960

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 01: ARRIVE PATHANKOTTRANSFER TO BASE CAMP – (1850M) 15KMS

Arrive Pathankot and transfer to Base camp by Local coach. (82Kms/2.5Hrs drive).
Welcome address by the camp leader.
Rasna/ Lemonade on arrival to be served, allotment of tents on sharing basis.
The view from the base camp is spectacular a confluence of two glacial rivers right in front and snow capped peaks just to the side. The back view open up views of dense forests and the front view showcases the quaint little Salli Village.

DAY 02: TREK TO HANDI FOREST CAMP - 1

  • Post breakfast Trek to Handi forest camp
  • Arrived camp around Lunch time
  • Post lunch, welcome address by the camp leader and allotment of tents on sharing basis
  • Activity – River crossing etc.
  • Soup time followed by dinner and campfire, Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis)

DAY 03: TREK TO REHLA CAMP - 2

  • Post breakfast Trek to Rehla camp
  • Arrived camp around Lunch time, welcome address by the camp leader and allotment of tents on sharing basis
  • Activity – Exploring the nearby high altitude area
  • Soup time followed by dinner  and campfire, Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis)

DAY 04: TREK TO BALENI PASS – DEPEND FOR TREKKERS SPEED AND WEATHER CONDIATION

  • Post breakfast, with packed lunch. Height gain day Great spectacular views of the Dhauladhar snow mountains from the top
    There is also a route from this camp to Baleni Pass, Kareri Lake, Lamdal Lake.
  • Return to Rehla Camp. Evening Tea and snacks.
  • Soup time followed by dinner and campfire
  • Overnight in tents (Group Sharing basis)

 

DAY 04: TREK TO BALENI PASS – DEPEND FOR TREKKERS SPEED AND WEATHER CONDIATION

  • Post breakfast, departure for trek to Base Camp
  • Arrive around lunch time. Lunch at Base camp
  • Soup time followed by dinner and evening dance party, overnight in tents

SIGHTSEEING PLACE IN KANGRA

MCLEOD GANJ is a suburb of Dharamshala in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, India. It has an average elevation of 2,082 metres (6,831 feet). Situated on the Dhauladhar Range, whose highest peak, “Hanuman Ka Tibba”, at about 5,639 metres (18,500 feet), lies just behind it, it is known as “Little Lhasa” or “Dhasa” (a short form of Dharamshala used mainly by Tibetans) because of its large population of Tibetan refugees.

Norbulingka Institute is dedicated to handing down tradition and restoring standards by providing training, education and employment for Tibetans. Cricket Stadium, Dharamshala :
Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, abbreviated as the HPCA Stadium, is a picturesque cricket stadium located in the city of Dharamshala District Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, India. The town of Dharamsala is best known internationally as the home of the Dalai Lama of Tibet Nestled in the lap of the majestic Himalayan mountain range of Dharamshala lies a quaint little cricket stadium. Located at the height of 1,457 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest sports grounds in the world.

Kangra Fort:
The history of the fort dates back to 4th century BC and thus it is counted among the few prominent historical remains of Kangra. It was constructed by the Katoch Dynasty. The fort was under the possession of different dynasties starting from Mahmud of Ghazni to Ranjit Singh, the Maharaja of Punjab. It is during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir, the fort was controlled by an appointed governor to regulate the turbulent chiefs of the hill. Sikhs were the last Indian ruler who possessed this fort before handing it over to the British Government.

Bhagsu Waterfall : This enchanting waterfall is located about 11 kms from Dharamshala and is easily approachable by road. It is one of the best tourist attractions in Dharamshala and is known for its old temple, a fresh water spring, and slate quarry a waterfall surrounded by stunning cliffs and trees. Tourists can take a dip in the chilly water of this fall and visit the Bhagsunag temple to seek blessing of Lord Shiva. The Bhagsunag Fall falls on the way to Triund, so the tourists can continue with their journey to Triund once they visit this elegant fall. Though, this spectacular waterfall lies a little distance away from the town of Dharamshala, the tourists make sure that they visit this spot, which is also an important place for Hindu pilgrims.

MEDICAL FACILITIES

Facilities for proper medical aid are available at every campsite throughout the trek. However, those on special medication or with known drug allergies should bring their own necessary medications.

SAFETY

Extensive and painstaking preparations have gone into the planning of trek routes keeping safety in mind. Our experienced camp leaders have been constantly visiting the area to check all the details. Stringent safety standards are adhered to strictly, and only quality equipment is used.

SAFETY TRAINING

A regular step we take to manage safety is to provide the trip leaders annual trainings camps so as to be updates with the new safety techniques. In addition all participants are briefed regularly to ensure that they play their part in protecting themselves and others. The trip leaders are provided training to ensure that they must follow the best practices, and observe key rules to keep safe and healthy.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The package price will be deducted as per the following conditions strictly. No refund will be entertained without receiving a cancellation request effective from the date of receipt of letter.
Notice of less than 30 days:                         Half fee refund
Notice of less than 15 days:                         No refund.
No refund will be given to people who are unable to complete the trek or abandon it due to any reasons.
